Buprenorphine for Chronic Pain and OUD
Description:
The opioid crisis has placed a focus on the diagnosis and treatment of opioid use disorders. In 2000 the Drug Abuse and Treatment ACT (DATA 2000) was passed and allowed for physicians to use buprenorphine in the outpatient setting, once they obtain an X-waiver. In 2021, the process by which to obtain an X-waiver has been simplified to an easy online application. In this lecture, Dr. Wright shares his over 30 years of experience treating OUD, describing how to create individualized treatment plans and initiate Medications for Opioid Use Disorders (MOUD also known as MAT). In addition, the lecture discusses how to treat patients with chronic pain and OUD and how to best assure patient safety and success during treatment.
This pre-recorded webinar, by speaker Stephen Wright MD, will take an estimated 75 minutes to complete.
