A Deeper Dive into the CDC Guidelines: Implementation and Practice
This module provides a detailed and practical approach to implementing the CDC Clinical Practice Guidelines Recommendations 1 through 10 in clinical practice with case examples. The remainder of the webinar addresses opioid stewardship and how to universally apply the guidelines at a practice level and at an individual level.

Joshua Blum MD is a primary care internist and addiction medicine physician at Denver Health and Hospital Authority. He is an institutional quality officer for pain and opioid management and works on initiatives to increase access to addiction treatment in the primary care setting. Dr. Blum is co-chair of the Provider Education Workgroup at the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention and serves on the leadership board of the Colorado Pain Society.
Dr Kaylin Klie is a family medicine and addiction medicine physician at the University of Colorado and Denver Health. Her clinical focus is perinatal addiction which includes the care of families impacted by substance use. Dr Klie enjoys teaching students, residents, fellows, and the community about caring for people with substance use conditions. She is the program director of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She serves on various local, regional, and national committees dedicated to serving and improving care for people with substance use.
